I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California: License #53136 (LMFT), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor-II (CADC-II), and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).
I earned my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary, where I also earned an Addiction Studies Certificate. My training began at a six month residential drug and alcohol treatment facility: New Life Community Services, in Santa Cruz, California. Training there included facilitating groups, teaching, and counseled individuals. I eventually became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II (CADC-II). Several years later, I moved my private practice to San Jose, California.
As an adjunct to my private practice in San Jose, California, I was asked to join the Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) team. ARC was an intensive out patient program for sex addicts, partners, and couples. As part of the team, I facilitated men's groups, counseled individual addicts, their partners, and couples. In addition to the training I received from the director of ARC, Dr. Mary Anne Fifield, DMFT, CSAT, I also enrolled in the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professional's (IITAP) intensive training to become a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).
I specialize in addiction counseling with individual addicts, their partners, and couples who are struggling with the problems that are associated with the compulsive behaviors that have negatively impacted their lives.
